Birmingham-based change consultancy Curium Solutions has boosted its learning team with the appointment of learning and development expert Jo Rix, who joins from Mars UK.
James Farrow, founding director and learning specialist, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Jo to the team. She has a great CV but, more importantly, she has the desire, drive and determination to make a real difference to the people she works with. This attitude matches the Curium spirit and culture.
“At Curium, we are here to help our clients to change – through individual learning and development, and through operational improvements and efficiencies. By keeping it simple and focusing on the client’s end goal, we enable clients to deliver lasting and sustainable change.”
During her time at Mars, Jo held regional and national account manager roles, as well as spending five years as a sales capability manager and coach within the Mars Chocolate division. In this role, she ran a sales training programme for more than 350 staff each year, helping them to improve their selling, negotiation, presentation, customer engagement and account management skills.
Jo was Mars UK’s first Discovery Insights accredited trainer and the company’s lead trainer for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Stretch Learning. She also identified skills gaps and related development needs, and led coaching training for sales associates, managers, leaders and customer teams. Since joining Curium, Jo has become an accredited TetraMap facilitator.
Jo Rix commented: “I am passionate about helping teams and individuals reach their full potential, working with them to uncover new ways of working or developing themselves. Curium came recommended by a mutual contact and is a great fit for me. Its culture and values really resonate, and it has an impressive track record of delivering results for organisations and individuals.”
Jo becomes part of Curium’s Capability practice, which develops the capability of an organisation’s leaders and teams. This includes personal performance improvement, improving leadership performance, culture development and training for people in change delivery roles.
Outside of work, Jo uses her coaching skills to help people change their physical appearance. She is a personal trainer and runs boot camps.
