We recently worked with Greater Anglia at one of their leadership conferences, where Curium Director and Co-Founder, James Farrow led an interactive session. From the start, we designed it to be simple, practical, and easy to relate to. We made sure the ideas would work just as well for front-line supervisors as they would for senior leaders. Most importantly, we created a space where everyone felt included and could see how they play a role in shaping the organisation’s leadership culture.
The response we received was incredibly positive. Many people said it was the most enjoyable and useful part of the day. The attendees shared “James connected well to everyone in the room, no matter their role or level of experience. The activities helped bring the ideas to life, giving them something they could take straight back into their jobs.”
“James delivered the session in a natural and engaging way, keeping things clear and avoiding jargon. He focused on real situations people recognise in their day-to-day work. We also built in activities that gave people a chance to try things out straight away, so it was not just something to listen to, but something to take part in.”
Greater Anglia told us the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. “Everyone felt connected with the session, from new starters through to senior leaders, and that this does not always happen with external speakers. For us, that is exactly what good leadership development should do. It should bring everyone in, not leave people out.”
As a people-first transformation consultancy, we see leadership differently. For us, it is not about job titles or hierarchy. It is about the behaviours people show every day. Leadership should feel real and practical whether someone leads a small team or influences many.
When everyone feels part of the conversation, it creates a shared way of thinking about leadership and a stronger culture.
